Riflesso is an improvised audiovisual performance in which sound and images are intertwined in a continuous exchange between audiovisual relationships and contrasts. The performances are based on a system of rules which aim to govern the interpreters in their relationships and behaviors. Improvisation has a variable duration, which ideally can vary between totally 25-40 minutes, and can consist of streams of images and sounds as strokes up to composing a real live cinema story.

The A / V performances can be organized in total freedom, considering a “site-adaptive” staging, or a classical concert presentation. Furthermore, the rules of improvisation foreseen through a part of the public possible interactive fruition, its organization in space, and with other performers, that is, with the possibility of including within them other forms of art (dance, theater, painting).

The audiovisual duo Memé/Pastorello was born in late 2021, their research focuses on experimenting with new improvisational languages for audiovisual performances. Their first work “Riflesso” is based on the improvisation system of the same name and was premiered at the Martini Elettrico 2022 festival in Bologna.
